  1. Eric Matthews

I have been buying Paradigm speakers since the 1990’s and they have been rock solid performers in my home theater. Easily the most trouble free products I have owned. This was my third Paradigm subwoofer in 25 years, replacing a PDR10 that still works perfect – it just doesn’t match. This new V12 sub may have understated looks, but when paired with my new Monitor SE speakers (and the grills off) it looks quite …. dope.

As for the sound, I’m no audiophile so I used the Paradigm Anthem Room Correction (ARC) app on my iPhone to setup the sub. The first movie I watched was Godzilla: King of the Monsters on Ultra HD with Dolby Atmos. I used the Paradigm Defiance bluetooth control app to adjust the bass to my liking.

The amplifier in the V12 is only 120 watts, but my home theater room is medium in size, and the V12 had no trouble filling the space with plenty left in the chamber. As I said before, I am not and audio expert – I was just looking for an updated subwoofer to complement my new Monitor SE sound stage.

The Defiance V10 was my initial pick, but for only $90 more I think I made the right choice with the V12. The updated look, the bigger size, the deeper LFE, and the bluetooth control app make it a great upgrade from my trusty PDR10.
